The Plukker Pub is open

In October 2021 we obtained the concession for the exploitation of a municipal brewery on the site of the Hop Museum. Construction will start in 2023 depending on the various licences and the further contacts with the Heritage Department. The final aim is to open our municipal brewery at the end of 2023 or at the latest in the beginning of 2024.

So you will have to wait a while but in the meantime be our guest in our brewery pub which we appropriately called “Plukker Pub” (i.e. Hoppickers’ Pub).

The Pub is located just like the Hop Museum at the “Stadsschaal” (i.e. Municipal Scales) complex. The buildings originally belonged to the monastery of the order of the Recolettes and until end of the 60’s hops were here inspected, weighed and pressed. In this fine example of industrial archeology houses since 1981 the Hop Museum. Also Dirk Frimout, first Belgian astronaut, was born here. Upon returning from space he unveiled the commemorative plaque at the front on May 24th 1992.

The Plukker Pub is open from Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. We serve our home brewed real ales and a selection of bubbles, wines and other drinks such as gin, sangria and our homemade Picon. There is a large offer of soft drinks such as the Belgian Ritchie lemonades, non alcoholic beverages, tea and coffee.
Our real ales are sold per crate or per carton of 12 bottles of 33 cl.

Relax on our sunny terrace in the yard of the ”Stadsschaal” facing the Hop Museum : Gasthuisstraat in Poperinge.

Plenty of parking facilities for bikes and a playground for children.

Let’s meet on Facebook : facebook.com/plukkerpub.
